In English:

Wooden church of Tiistenjoki.

This church is a real wooden church. All the inside is covered with colourful wood. Church of Tiistenjoki was consecrated in 1953. So, it is quite modern church. There are seats for 600 persons.

Altar piece has the message: “Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”.

Outside on graveyard there is nice monument (war memorial or Pro Patria) that is dedicated to those who passed away in the world war II. Many pour villages lost young men and young wifes with their children had to continue their struggle for their life. Life was not easy at that time. Some examples: One had to fetch water and of course to carry out it. To warm it by sticks of wood. Also there was no electric heating. Those widows had to them selves to fell wood, to saw those pieces of wood, to split hem and carry inside in cold, snowy weather. In some villages there were only old men and women, because those young were in the war. Women had to do the same work as their men were doing when it was time of peace. Well, this just a small idea to catch why in every graveyards we have those statues of war heroes.

Last sentence in this memorial is: “Oh my Lord, protect our home, trust and fatherland”.

Suomeksi:

Tiistenjoen kirkko.

Taustaa sille miksi juuri Tiistenjoen kirkon esittely.

Sitten kirkon tietoihin.

Kirkko on otettu käyttöön vuonna 1953. Alttaritaulu on Kaarlo Lamminheimon maalaama.

Onpa soma kirkko. Hempeän värinen. Sisältäpäin on kuin vähän modernimpi versio Seurasaaren vanhasta kirkosta, jossa olin kun ystäväni meni siellä toistamiseen naimisiin kolmisen vuotta sitten. Seurasaaren kirkon puuosat tietty hyvin paljon tummuneempia. Uruista olet saanut tosi hyvät kuvat. Erinomainen perspektiivi kuvissa. Mielenkiintoinen historia tälläkin kirkolla on.

Hei Tarolino.

Kiitos kehuista.

Terveisin.

Minulla on sinulle tunnustus blogissani. Käypä noutamassa se itsellesi.

Hmm, mikähän se mahtaa olla? Katsotaan.

Terveiset.
